Frequently Asked Questions

What is the purpose of a duplex manifold configuration?

A duplex manifold connects two banks of cylinders (e.g., Left and Right). One bank supplies the hospital while the other is on standby. When the active bank runs low, the system switches to the standby bank, allowing empty cylinders to be replaced without stopping flow.

Why are non-return valves installed on each cylinder pigtail?

Non-return valves prevent gas from venting if a pigtail breaks, and they allow staff to replace single empty cylinders without shutting down the entire bank.

What pressure are the manifold headers tested to?

Our oxygen manifolds are designed for working pressures of 150-200 bar and are hydraulic pressure-tested up to 300 bar to ensure safety.

Can these manifolds be used for other gases?

Yes, we supply manifolds designed and color-coded for Nitrous Oxide, Medical Air, Carbon Dioxide, and Nitrogen, with pin-index connections to prevent cross-connections.

How many cylinders can connect to one manifold bank?

We supply manifold layouts starting from 2x2 configurations up to 2x20 configurations or larger, depending on the hospital's bed count and daily gas usage.
